The process of fractionation of fast pyrolysis bio-oil (FPBO), opens new pathways for the decarbonization of industries depending on fossil-based feedstocks with high greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Using a polar solvent in our liquid-to-liquid fractionation technology, we are able to produce stable fractions of pyrolytic lignin, pyrolytic sugars, light phenolics and wood vinegar.

Together with our partners and building on the work done by BTG Biomass Technology Group BV, we have been actively exploring the application of the various fractions into commercial products. For example, it has been demonstrated that pyrolytic lignin holds promise for insulation panels, while pyrolytic sugars, can be incorporated into BioMSAR biofuels for shipping.

We are continually seeking the technological frontiers for decarbonization of industries where practical & innovative science results in commercial solutions. Our goal is to drive success and foster a future where essential materials are derived from readily available and renewably sourced second-generation (2G) biomass feedstocks, such as residues available at sawmills, pulp and paper industry and agriculture.
